In 1989, the Littlewoods store in Stockport
took disabled children for a day out to
the seaside, with help from the local Rotary club who organised transport. The day was so popular that Littlewoods stores up and
down the country and Rotary decided to
follow suit. Soon, the event was run
nationally and helped over 30,000 children.
In 1998, KidsOut was founded by a small
dedicated group of Rotarians,
Littlewoods employees and others to support the Day Out and develop other fun ways to help children
and young people. Today, KidsOut is the only UK charity dedicated to
bring fun and happiness into the lives
of disadvantaged children. And, as every
parent knows, that's the most effective way to motivate a young person.
Disadvantage comes in many forms:
Poverty: there are four million children in the UK living in
poverty.
Poor parenting
Bad housing or being homeless
Disability
Domestic violence or abuse
Being young carers for a parent
Having English as their second language
The antidote to award ceremonies!
Why you should come along:
KidsOut Question of Sport is a brilliant
black-tie evening of corporate
entertainment! You and your team will compete to
win trophies and special prizes in a fully
interactive sports quiz based on the popular TV
show.
The evening begins with a champagne reception and
a four course dinner with wine is served while you
take part in the quiz on the big screens.
There are a great range of questions, so anyone from
the sports expert to the novice can take
part.
The rounds also include favourites such as 'Guess
the Mystery Sportsperson' and 'What Happened
Next?' As well as a great quiz there will also be
other games and entertainment throughout the
night. Entry to the three fun activities we run
during the evening - Spot the Ball, Higher or
Lower and Russian Quiz Roulette - can be
bought as a Games Package when you order your
table or on the night.
There are fantastic prizes on offer for the winners
and buying a Games Package will guarantee that you
and your guests will have a great time!

Every year that passes in these young peoples
lives, the chance of changing destinies
diminishes. Our services work from an early age to
broaden their horizons and promote their inclusion
in society and fulfilment in life.
Everything we do is based on understanding.
Understanding children & young people and the
reality of their lives is at the heart of what we
do. Our understanding is based on what they tell
us, the input of our partners who work directly with
disabled and disadvantaged kids every day and the
experience of our own small staff. Our
services are developed in consultation with
children, young people, families and front-line
workers and then piloted to see if we've got
them right. Only then do we seek to roll them
out across the country. This ensures that all
our services are really effective.
We receive no funds from central or local
government and rely entirely on voluntary donations
and corporate supporters. If you would like to
