The
Manchester Museum is a place that captures the imagination. We
are well known for Egyptology, birds and mammals, dinosaurs and
live amphibians but there's a lot more besides. Explore the
Museum's 15 galleries to see objects from the four corners of
the world and almost every period in history. Entry to the
Museum is completely free. You can spend just half an hour or
all day looking around and everyone is welcome. We have a
packed programme of family and adult events linked to the
Museum's collection, many of which are free.

EDUCATION
The Education Service at
Museum welcomes visiting groups of all ages, and provides an
opportunity to handle real objects and specimens. Sessions can
be based around the National Curriculum, and may include
Science, History, Art and Geography. Sessions must be booked in
advance.

IDENTIFICATION
SERVICE
The museum provides a free
identification service for any item related to the areas
covered by its collections. Whether it be a fossil, an old coin
or some unidentified ancient object, the museum's expert staff
will attempt to identify it for you - but they will not give
valuations!
