Morecambe Bay & Harts Restaurant
One of the wonders of the North. The largest expanse
of intertidal mudflats and sand in the UK with abundant bird
life and varied marine habitats living across the bay. (There
is a bird observatory at Walney Island.) The bay is famous for
its fast moving tides. The bay makes a beautiful landmark for
taking in some delightful coastal scenery such is the changing
face of the tidal streams and the view of the Lake District
Peaks in the background.
Harts Restaurant is recommended for a lunch. Used as a
location for Lawrence Olivier's film, The Entertainer, Hart's
reputation for English fayre served in an atmosphere of silver
teapots, maple floors and crystal chandeliers is always a
popular place to stop.
